The History of WelcomHeritage Ramgarh

The property is dotted with historic art and antiques, a legacy passed down for eight generations now. The present family of Ramgarh (Haryana) are the descendants of Raja Sangar Chand of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, who ruled from 1197 to 1220. Its rulers were Chandel Rajputs whose original seat of power was Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh. About 1300 years ago, the Ramgarh family ancestors migrated from there to Punjab and established the State of Kot Kahlur and their capital was later shifted to Bilaspur.
One branch of the family of the Raja of Bilaspur laid the foundation of Ramgarh more than 325 years ago. Eight generations down, the family has opened its home to all, with many original art pieces, antiques, murals and paintings from the pre-independent times.
